Notice how Larry M doesn't dismiss the issues I listed but in fact say they are present everywhere! If this is the case then you should be comfortable letting my review stand and allowing the public to judge for themselves whether this is the experience they want compared to previous hookah bar experiences.

The fact that you can immediately recognise that the positive reviews below aren't written by the owners (as Zach assumed) suggests your too close to the staff to offer a truly 3rd party objective review. "Ice and Fire is awesome! End of story" is sweet but a completely empty descriptive.

The truth is Ice and Fire is run by a very enthusiastic group of kids with a friendly atmosphere and great product- this is where I was first drawn in. It is still, though, a basic setup: This is by no means the mecca of hookah, nor anything innovative for that matter.

Where I take GREAT issue however is in the seeming non-caring that occurs when you ask for something multiple times or are not being attended to because of their semi-structured, free roaming attitude. You may even see them concerned with something completely unrelated to the hookah bar(laptop, their buddies, girlfriends, hot girls, music etc.). Their ego often completely prevents them from seeing a complaint as warranted. Positive AND negative feedback must be heard in order to strengthen service. You can have a great time if their service matches the atmosphere but often this becomes a coin flip leaning more towards the negative as you become less forgiving of their demeanor.

Oh and a pointer, Larry, if your going to give your reviews a positive tilt spend less time on the defensive solely basing it on what others write...It's amateur.

Ice and Fire is awesome! End of story... The problems people have had with this place will be the same anywhere you go. The guy who was pissed about tax cracked me up... I believe it's a federal law to pay tax so maybe those other places you go with the people who don't speak english don't follow federal law. O and zach I hate to break it to you but neither of the two owners wrote a review so your whole conspiracy theory is shot to sh*t sorry bud.

First of all, I totally agree with Ilan, And the owners of the bar should not be posting on how good the place is. All the people who said it was a nice hookah bar are the partners of the "nice" hookah bar. So as you can see not only do they no serve good hookahs, the whole time your being served is when they aren't on this website trying to lure customers in, with false reviews, you'll receive the hookah 40 minutes after you order, if your the only ones there...

I totally disagree with Illan P and nick I. As far as i have seen the place in continuously packed with hofstra students, and people love that place. There has been numerous occasions where people come out from queens to go to ice and fire. I have on numerous occasions tried hooka places in the city and in queens and this place by far beats any one them. Besides the fact that the service is amazing where you get your hooka almost immediately counting the amount of time it takes to make one, the staff there is attentive making sure your hooka works and the coals are always burning and fresh. I have gone to other places where i would have had to call the guy over like 10 times to get the hooka working and the flavors dont even taste like what you ordered. The place might be a lil more then some, but for the service you get its worth it. Not only do u have a large variety of flavors, but you can actually taste the flavors and everything is always clean. The environment is friendly and welcoming, there is always some nice music playing and you can hang out with your friends and have a lot of fun. Would recommend ice and fire to anyone, definitely a great place to go to!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally haven't seen much of these issues, staff is really nice, sometimes service can be slow but that's the same in any business and usually is due to the number of people they are trying to serve at the time.

as far as the menus... generally, most people are going to be sharing a hookah not each getting their own.

run by kids in a non-competitive market and thus will defy many customer service rules you've previously taken for granted. Staff can be highly friendly and chill yet completely defiant and aloof when complained to. Your almost guaranteed to experience:

1.) Long hookah wait times as the staff often prefers to return to their facebooking when an order is placed

2.) Forgotten orders that they usually return to double-check

3.) Dirty tables, and other uncleaned crap

4.) Ring of coal on the bathrooms toilet seat and a sink filled with bowls and tobacco products

5.) The old guy...He's awkward

6.) Forget to give you or give you incorrect number of mouthpieces/menus

7.) Staff is obnoxiously more attentive to a group of hot girls

8.) Taxes on the bill, I'm sure theres a reason but other LI hookah lounges dont have this

They serve a quality product (there's always the potential for the smoke to be too light or harsh as with most places) but overtime it truly becomes negated by poor service and you feel your patronage goes unnappreciated.

This place is a joke overpriced, rude service, everyone that goes to hofstra knows not to go here even though its right across the street. We all go to Steinway St in queens any place is better than this place dont waste your time.

This is a nice hookah bar. The selection is vast and flavorful and the service is top notch.

I would suggest trying the Black Lotus flavor.
