Hi,
I have checked most hookah places around denton. In-fact there are four in total. Ashes is the newest Hookah lounge in town. Natalie's is the second newest one and oxygen bar and kush are old ones. Kush is more of a club rather than a hookah lounge. It's very bad for having a proper hookah experience. natalie's on the other hand is very very expensive compared to any hookah lounge in DFW. the one i liked the most is Ashes. Great new hookahs imported all the way from jordan and egypt. Great traditional and local sheesha brands. They have all the authentic middle eastersn flavors that you wont find in any other hookah lounge. They have Al-Nakhla, Al- waha and Al-Fakher. They also have all the flavors of social smoke and starbuzz. They also offer different sorts of bases and can make you a bowl out of an apple, pineapple, cantaloupe and lemon. They have the best prices as far as i know. Cheapest Hookah at 9.99 and the highest one at 17.99 with 10% off for all students. They have free wi-fi, Poker nights, Live NFL, NBA, and UFC games. T.Jays Pizza menu served inside and a lot of drinks and appetizers. They also provide poker chips, playing cards, and many board games. The coolest part is that they have a cool smoke shop along side the hookah lounge with cheap cigs, cigars, water pipes and almost everything as a head shop. Malboros i guess are at $4.99, camels are at 5.29.
Go check it out. its at 420 South carroll Blvd phone no 9403811010

I checked the address this place is called Kush now? I few months ago I was in Texas from Michigan. A friend of mine wanted to go to a hookah bar so we ended up at Kush. This place is really cool. The music isnt to loud, the setting is nice with black lights, drawing on the table with highlighters was something different. The waitress we had we extremely nice, very helpful, and friendly. She would come back every so often to talk and made sure if we needed anything eles. I talk about this place every time someone brings up a hookah bar. Even the guy at the door is friendly, I seen a kid come out with a bag while waiting for a friend and the guy at the door was asking what he bought and made sure he had everything, but they forgot something with his hookah he bought and had someone go with him to get the part he was missing and gave him two free packages of tobacco his choice of flavor.

The service is horrible. I had a bad experience and highly doubt I will ever go back there again. The thing about the girls that work there flirtying A LOT with the guys just 4 tips is also true and annoying. It's way 2 much, it bothered me that she kept flirtying with my friends boyfriend and touching him come 'on that's just not cool at all. There's way better places than this here in Denton!!

Well, I went back when I realized the other hookah bars had already closed, and my experience was MUCH better. I think the waitress who served my party before, Emily, told the owner, Moe, that last time I was upset about being charged more than she told us we would be. It was obvious he cared and wanted to make it up to me (I was the only one there this time). He didn't charge me for mixing flavors and when he realized they were out of the drink I ordered, he made something better "from scratch." I don't exactly know what "from scratch" means; either way, he definitely made an extra effort. That night, I met a couple other servers who were very cool. I wish I could remember the girl's name, but she's petite with brown hair, and a fashion-design major. The guy's name is David. My advice, GO there! If your server messes up, tell Moe; he'll take care of you.

Granted I've only been there twice, once towards the end of August, and once the other night; but both times my party was financially screwed over. The servers would say one thing about the price when serving you, and another thing when they're ringing you up, usually by means of another server standing over their shoulder. No use "wasting your breath," it doesn't matter if you bring up the discrepancies or not. Oh, and on top of that, last time, the waitress was all over my friend's boyfriend trying to get more tips, as in constantly playing with his hair, hugging him, sitting by him, and teasing him. NOT COOL. BETTER HOOKAH BARS IN DENTON!

This is my least favorite hookah lounge in Denton - there are four. The atmosphere is good, but the decorations almost seem cloying. There are paintings on the front and decorations inside of traditional ancient egyptian iconography that seem to be saying "Hey, this is legit, right? We have pictures of pharaohs and pyramids." I've felt more at home in a hookah lounge filled with imagery and decorations that the owners can actually relate to - i.e. - Bagheri or Natalie's. I don't think Moe, the owner of hookah hookah (now Kush) ever met a pharao. He may have been to a pyramid, but come on.
I was quite put off by several things: there was a 3 person per hookah limit. That's kind of lame and greedy. If a big enough party comes along, they are going to order more than one, so what's the point of that.
If you come to see an open mic performance, you have to buy 5 dollars worth of something there. Again - lame. If you are not a patron, but want to support friends who are performing, that's a real bummer. It's also just a sign of the kind of hookah establishment that tries to get money from you att any possible juncture, though I've seen worse (Byblos in Ft. Worth - awful).
The division between regular hookah flavors and "premium" is conspicuous. I agree that some brands are much better than others, but a flat rate is much more honest and reasonable.
The quality of smoke is one of my main complaints - There are a couple things to think about. I'm sure they keep their hookahs clean and use fresh shisha, but they don't offer a windcover at all with the hookah. There's no way for the smoker to regulate the conservation of heat on the bowl. It's also dangerous for all of those hookahs sitting on the ground without anything covering the coal. Someone's going to get burned.
I ordered double apple and asked for a wind-cover. The server seemed perplexed at my order. He had to bring out a hookah with a tiny, tiny windcover that barely fastened on the bowl and just kind of caused me annoyance. He said "My boss said that in about 15 minutes it will taste like unless you take it off." I told him I know what I'm doing. In truth without the windcover, the coal will lose heat in the open and be done in about 15 minutes.
The regular double apple wasn't very flavorful. Some of the other hookahs people were smoking tasted good, but was dying, though the people who ordered them had no idea really. It was sad.
The price was reasonable. The service was pretty good. The seating was comfortable. Everything else not so much.
