To the comment about the food......IRS a hookah bar. I've been to at least 30 hookah bars and none of them are known for their food. Don't go to any place that serves hookah and expect good food or food service.

This hookah bar has great hookahs and great customer service. The atmosphere is very middle eastern/egyptian.

Stay away from this places chocolate mint hookah, it is terrible. But when I complained about it they brought me an AWESOME sweet melon hookah. Definetley reccomend this place to others.

I really loved the food and the hookas are very reasonably priced. My only complaint is that the cushions are obviously old and very worn. Some of the chairs are broken also. I like my resaraunts to be super clean, but! I do love hooka and there arn't many choices in the area.

I love this place also. The first time I went on a Friday night, I loved the atmosphere. I ended up going 3 more times before the week was over. I just recently bought a hookah from there and love it.

JEFF:
I know that for The Egyptian, you only have to be 18. I'm pretty sure that's the requirement for the other bars as well.

Have fun!

This was probably one of the worst experiences in my entire life. I went with my fiance and my brother. We had heard of/seen it a few times, so we made a special driveout there. We were going to order food and then enjoy the hookah. When we were ready to order, the waitress came over and my fiance asked her what a word meant on the menu (it came on the kabobs). She said lamb. He showed her where lamb was already listed in the description and she just shrugged and said "I don't know then" and didn't offer to go find out. He went ahead and ordered it (good thing he wasn't allergic to the mystery meat), and my brother ordered some kind of chicken and rice. I just got a philly cheesesteak and we all ordered cokes. About 20 minutes went by and these two guys come in and the waitress greeted them by name. After taking their order she came back to chat with them. Then she goes off into the kitchen and returns with their food, while we're still sitting there salivating. After about 30 minutes, the waitress brings out my brothers plate and returns to a back table where she sat talking to a man. We assumed since we all ordered at the same time that the rest of the food would be following shortly, so we told my brother to go ahead and eat. Another 30 minutes passed and my fiances kabobs came out. They were horrible! There were NO vegetables at all, even though the menu said there were... and what kabob do you know of that doesn't come on a stick? It was just kind of thrown together on his plate. But he went ahead and ate. Yet another 30 mins or so went by before they brought my philly cheesesteak. The bun was cold and the meat felt like it had been sitting out for at least 20 minutes minutes. It was the worse meal I've ever been given and expected to eat. Anyway, to top it all off, we flagged the waitress down for some drink refills. She picks up some of our dirty plates in one hand and then my empty glass in the other. She walks over to the table of the two men who had arrived earlier and chatted for about 10 minutes. She had set my glass down on their table, and when she walked away, she left my cup there. Then she comes back from the kitchen, grabs the cup from the table, and takes it to the back and refills it!! (I know this because they have a mirror where I could see into the kitchen from our table). When she brings it back to our table I asked her if I could get a clean glass of coke. She asked why, and I told her what I had just witnessed. She just laughed and said "Oh, it's okay." and started to set it down on the table. After returning with a clean glass, she brought the bill, offered no apologies or discounts for our terrible experience, and again retreated to the back where she sat talking to the man I mentioned before. We didn't see her after that. We decided not to smoke the hookah since our experience was completely squashed, and we left and went home. We haven't been back since, and of course, we tell everyone about it. And that, in so many words, is my experience of this awful place.

I'm planning to going to a hookah bar with a friend but he is only 20. Do you have to be over 18 or 21 to get in?

This place is FABULOUS! The atmosphere is wonderfully origional, they have a great wine selection, and the food leaves nothing to be desired. The Egyptian fries are the perfect snack! I highly reccomend the kiwi-strawberry flavored tobacco as well. While there was a bit of a wait to get a seat, (usually about a half hour or so) it's well worth your time. Have fun!

The Egyptian is a great hookah bar with a great atmosphere! We used to be usuals at Khoury's Mediterranean Island until we found The Egyptian. Better service, better food, better prices and most importantly, better hookah!
