Terrible service, bunch of annoying kids (not 18 obviously, more like 14) running around, the tobacco tastes like bark chips. It seems like Tony's is the only good place to smoke

i dont go there a whole lot but i've been there a few times. It is kinda sketchy but it really is a rad place to go and kick it on a friday night when you're bored. The employess are really chioll and nice, and most of the time the hookahs are good. That could use a little work though, i have came in before and had to complain about the hookahs. Other than that it's a great atmosphere, with good food, good music, and plenty of drunk portland people once you go outside. four stars.

I don't know what people are not understanding. Metro only serves herbal shisha, it contains no tar, nicotine, or tobacco. Only tobacco is prohibited by law to those under age 18. Basically the herbal stuff is comparable to flavored tea. We offer a safe, alcohol free environment for those under age 21 can hang out. Hey, I found out that there are alot of minors that come in there.including high schoolers under 18. not sure about the herbal tea hookah. but,people better be checkin ID. if my kid gets in there again. i will be turning this place in. sorry!

I go to Metro almost everyweekend. Its such a great place to just sit back and chill. The pizza is great and the service is excellent.

It was my first time there weeks ago. I was on a date with a long time friend. He recommended we go there. When we got there that evening the vibe was great, the hookahs were beautiful and the drink specials were awesome. The kareoke night wasnt bad either. We were entertained the whole night we were there. I loved it . The nice laidback setting made it comfortable and easygoing. I give Metro 5 stars all the way.

Although there is a lot of negitivity toward Metro's, how can you complain against a second home?

I've attended Metro Pizza for the past 4 years and have seen remarkable improvements. You have to enjoy the comfortable atmosphere in the downtown Portland location. What other places give you a great location to enable you to kick it with your friends and simply step outside and enjoy the city life.

The reason Metro Pizza is receiving these poor reviews are out of there control. Asking for ID still doesn't prevent a 16 year old kid from sneaking by.

I like the place. It is a little sketch, but it is deffinatly a place to call my own. I really like the beds that are upstairs with the hookah in the middle.

I know they got busted for letting minors in, but they dont do that any more. they sell herbal hookah to people 16+ (so they say its herbal, but idk) I am 18 and enjoy it, especially since there are not a bunch of kids who look 12 there any more.

The people are really great! And so is the pizza! If you are in for a relaxing time, i think you should go!

okay ive been to metro pizza once and this place sucks! it is nasty! they only have broken tables and chairs and it is not chill at all. the hookah sucks and there are stupid people. anyone who has been to a good hookah bar with couches and nice hookah where they serve drinks food and they have music on knows that metro sucks!

if you guys all love this fucking place so much i would suggest you stop posting comments about them serving to minors. They will get shut down and then you and your high school friends wont have anywhere to go to look cool. i used to work at another hookah bar ın portland and we were deff one of the best places to go and have never got shut down because we dont serve to minors and we keep our fire codes in check. find somwhere else to go thats more worth your time.

I went there about a week ago. It was okay except most of the chairs are uncomfortable or broken, tables are random junk desks, and it is filled with annoying loud teenie boppers. If you like high school drama, little anoying kids and a ghetto enviornment....You will love it.

Its great that they let minors in and its a great overall experience, i highly recommend it

This message is to James and everyone else who is wrong! Metro Pizza and hookah is still open! We were only closed for one week during the summer and it was due to improper fire code regulation not sale of tobacco to minors. We had to close for an entire week so we could open up a new room for hookah smoking enjoyment with 2 fire exits instead of one. See everyone here!

great place to hang out and relax, my friends and i are there almost every weekend. theres always new people to meet and GREAT HOOKAH!

they arent still open, they were busted of the summer and have been closed due to sales to minors

this place is great. i always find it a good spot to start the night or a good place to chill if there is nothing going on.

Last time I went there to smoke hookah there were kids atleast 15 years old. It's crazy to think that in oregon underaged kids can get away with smoking tobacco. I'm still trying to figure out how metro pizza is still in business?

Hi - I'm the manager of Metro Pizza & Hookah and LAVA. The reason we can serve shisha to minors is we serve herbal shisha, its a non-tobacco alternative to regular shisha but has the same great flavor! In LAVA (the 21+ side), we definately check ID so I don't know what these people are talking about getting "drinks"... unless they are talking bout Sobe's??? Also in LAVA, we are still serving the tobacco shisha.

I like the fact that they don't card people inside the hookah lounge and the bar itself. It's comforting to know that my underage friends and I can go somewhere to chill, grab a few "drinks" and smoke a hookah on occation.

went to metro for my first time smoking hookah and it was amazing how they were so casual about letting minors in. made my experience more fulfilling and met a lot of people that were quite amusing

One of the only places in Portland that allows minors (legally!). It's a very relaxed place with great prices and a location that's easy to get to.

A relaxed atmosphere, GREAT service, wonderful people and excellent hookah! Great variety of food and beverages. great prices and specials. Great for College Students and Adults (18-65) looking for a place to start their friday nights. central to downtown portland so within walking distance (minutes) of the MAX and other great downtown bars. I have been going here for the last few weeks and will continue coming back for the reasons i have listed. everytime i am amazed at how friendly everyone here is and how hard they work to satisfy their customers! I would give this place 4 out of 5 stars.
