By the way ... this place had 43 health code violations as of 1/08 and 17 as of 5/08. Google "hade bade violations".

I called Hade Bade for directions prior to going and nobody was able to provide me with specifics, as no one spoke fluent English. My first observation of this place was how dark and empty it was. The decor is nice and features a lot of Egyptian items. I do not recommend sitting in the large room, off to the side of the main room. You sit on the floor, which can be nice for hookah, however, the area was dusty and dirty. The cushions were stained, and people were rolling around on the floor. Stay in the main room at the wooden tables. My companion and I were the only ones in the bar for at least an hour. When it got "crowded" there were about 15 people in attendance including us. They do not card at all. The drinks are awful and they do not know how to make anything except what is on the menu ("Camel" juices which are vodka mixed with fruit juice ... avoid these at all costs). You cannot order drinks, as they do not understand and/or know how to make them. If you are a beer drinker this place would be great for you, as they have a small but decent selection of bottled beers. If you want food, all they have are 4 or 5 Egyptian dishes. I recommend eating elsewhere prior to your arrival. None of the food is made there. The servers kept going elsewhere and bringing the food in, along with cases of beer. Someone brought in three fish to be gutted and filleted in his arms(?). The food we had was simple and cheap, once delivered. The hookahs are nice, but the workers keep taking them elsewhere to be packed and repacked. Good tobacco selection and the they are generous with the tobacco and coal. Reasonably priced hookahs. The bathroom was small and not extremely clean. The absolute strangest thing is, in many of the other reviews I have read about Hade Bade, the owner Mohammed is mentioned. Everyone said he's friendly and very Egyptian, as per the theme and decor. The two times I went there all the employees were Mexican and I was happy I speak fluent Spanish to ameliorate my experience. I would return, if only for the hookah, or to get my underage niece in.

I like hade bade because it's right near the thailand cafe and song 7.2 which are really good places to go if you want to get food and drinks before hookah.. I've never been carded at at the thailand cafe or hade bade, and I've been to both of them a bunch of times. Song 7.2 tried to ID my friends and I but we told them this long story about how we just graduated college and we were celebrating and it worked out pretty nicely

OK, I change my mind, this is probably the second worst place to go, because the guy who owns it has now made it a one drink minimum, and coke or a water costs 5$!!! But if you are going there with a few friends and have enough money, I recommend House Brand (Description on Menu: Don't Ask, Just Order). Cozy Cafe is probably the best place to go if u want a cheap night, and great service and you are in the area...btw its relle hard to find, tucked in between a pet food store and a bar.

This is probably the best place to go and smoke hookah if you are new to it. They have a wide selection of flavors, and the only real negative thing I can say about the place is that sometimes they keep the door open and the wind makes it hard to do smoke tricks and the place gets very popular on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays but besides that its great.
