I agree with Anka, Chris Garza and Leo DeLeon. I used to come to this place before, right around the corner, Sultan Cafe got really popular (after they changed management - I think they are from lybia). I thought the food was good the first couple times I went in there, but after they got comfortable with the ideal that i was going in 4-5 times a week I lost the service that they were giving me. I would have thought that the service got better because I was recognized as a regular, but waiters skipped me and would help the less familar faces (like they did me when i first showed up).

They use any hookah for any flavor and thats why the hookahs were not that good. Mind you, I thought they were good because I was introduced to hookahs by a friend at Shisha Cafe. But I decided to give Sultan Cafe a chance and I was won over.(See Sultan Cafe- Hookah-Holic for my opinion on Sultan Cafe)

Aside from everything else and the poor service that the previous opinionators stated, I was never comfortable with the owner and the manager. The owner was a very stuck up person who gave a lot of people the impression that he only wanted money. (No crap, why else would you run a business, but atleast show the customers that you appreciate their support) I complained to him about my hookah taste and he never offered to fix, change or clean the hookah when requested.

I admit that I support Sultan Cafe more than Shisha Cafe, but I still come to Shisha Cafe occassionally...only with the hopes that it changes for the better. But I was disappointed when I came with friends who wanted to give it another chance because it seemed like they try to improve the look of the place more than the organization and service and quality. December 2008 will probably be the last time I go to Shisha Cafe....

OH YEAH, Sultan Cafe has happy hour and gives military and student discounts. They also have live music and Xbox free of charge mind you with lots of games....

Sorry to all the Shisha Cafe Lovers, But Sultan Cafe is MUCH BETTER in every aspect of the business world.

I worked there for 3 days before i quite...i'm sorry to say but the owners are shisty-i've worked at 2 hookah bars in California (palo alto & berkley) and never have i seen such unorganization. It was recently remodeled-it looks good don't get me wrong, but i have not been back. Take my advice for what you will, but Sultans is right around the corner on Babcock

I love Cafe Shisha. It's just a saunter from my dorm, and it's always very cozy, and the hookah is excellent.

I went with my friends a few weeks ago and it sucked everything about it sucked !!!!

The first time I came to this place I had a house flavor mix and it wasnt good. It burnt within the first tweenty minutes. I dont know why but I just didnt like the environment. I love the waitstaff. They are nice, but the quality of tobacco wasnt good. I also had to ask for coals every time. I dont recommend this place.
