Me and my friends used to go there once a week (we had a friend mixing the hookahs in the back) but we didn't get anything for free, just great service. It's in Deep Ellum so we used to go there to hang out before or after we watched bands but now it's crazy stuck up and expensive. Definitely not a cool place to hang anymore. Too bad, it USED to be a blast.

I have gone to the velvet for a couple years now when i roll through Big D. Started out great, they opened a second one in Addison, even better, they closed it. Now the original in the heart of Deep Ellum, no longer has belly dancers on Saturdays or waitresses taking your orders, now you have to order everything at the bar....pain, but they make up for it by bringing in DJs that pump up music so loud it makes conversation almost impossible....Prices aren't that bad $30 for a special mix...but I won't be going back there EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!

That does sound expensive. The largest hookah tab I've ever had was like 60 bucks at our bar in Fayetteville and that's with 3 hookahs going at once, plenty of beer, and a generous tip.

I loved this place!!! Great atmosphere. If you can't afford it, don't go silly!!! AWESOME!!!

way over priced, up to 45 dollars? Come on, we all know it isn't that expensive. Also kind of touristy, girls snapping pictures for an hour to look like they were having fun, it killed my buzz. Ahhh and the aweful house techno that blaired and the velvet rope at the door. Not cool
