WORST PLACE EVER! Went with friends for a casual hookah smoking evening and walked out paying the per person minimum that is listed in small print on the menu. Should have told us when we walked in and we never would have stayed. After paying $16 for hookah and not ordering anything but tea, we walked out having to pay a bill that would cover a nice dinner at an expensive restaurant and we didn't even eat anything. Never going back! They basically steal your money and provide terrible service in return.

The Hookah was good. But the 7 dollar minimum is a turn off to customers. They sometimes play with your bill and add things you didnt ask for and dont like to budge. One time i want and got one hookah, the hookah was 15 dollars. I went again and it became 25 all of a sudden. Never again. Not worth it.

This place has gone down hill in recent times. Used to drive here from the San Gabriel Valley because of the food/prices/hookah, but haven't been there in about a year. The last time I went the hookah was okay but overpriced and the service was bad to say the least not to mention the minimum charge. This place just sucks now, except for the food which I would order to go.

I've been coming here for years. The hooka was the best in town and the hummus was insanely good. The hooka was a bit pricier than that others in town, but it seemed to be better quality so I sucked it up. The service has ALWAYS been poor, but because the staff are always nice, you get over it. Then one night, lightning struck and while I and three of my friends were enjoying our hooka, the owner was performing some sort of black magic on my receipt. I looked at the bill and shockingly the total for a single hooka was 49 dollars. WHAT?!? The 7 dollar minimum I've never seen on my receipt was charged per person (even for a friend that showed up minutes before we asked for the check) and an included gratuity. I went to talk with the manager, and she got very uppity about her outrageous overhead, and expenses, and that she needed to charge the fees to maintain her business. I threatened to never come back unless she treated me the way she always had before. She didn't budge. So I said goodbye to Dahab.

This place doesn't even deserve the one star I gave it in this review. This is the worst hookah bar I have ever been to, and I have been to many, in all different cities, states and countries. The four of us arrived after dinner on a slow monday night, meaning we were not a burden to them. Long story short, for four people to have one plain hookah and four teas was $59 dollars. It was an $18 hookah that was listed on the menu as $13, a $7 charge for each of us in addition to the hookah and tea, $4 teas, and a $10 GRATUITY FEE for the minimal service we had required.
Finding these costs appalling, we naturally put up a fight, and they, rather than trying to reason with us, fought back with us! Seriously rude people. After much deliberation, they finally removed the preposterous gratuity fee, and we left, vowing to never return.
On a side note, they had a television blaring on the wall, and being that we were the only customers, we asked them if it would be possible to turn the tv off or down, and they denied us rudely, saying it was not possible.
Do yourself a favor and go any extra distance to any other hookah bar in la, it will be worth the gas money.

I started going to Dahab in May of 2006, and I LOVED it back then. The service was great.. every single waiter was gorgeous and there was no minimum! It was also a great place to people watch Friday through Sunday, especially Sunday nights. However as of lately it seems to have gone down hill.. the gorgeous waiters are gone, and there's some $7-10 minimum per person excluding argeela. Occasionally they also have mandatory 15% gratuity, even if your service sucked. I miss the old days at Dahab :(
